Gilgamesh, a New English Version, by Stephen Mitchell
Very interesting, readable version. I think Mitchell's forward was particularly good, and I was interested to read about his approach to creating the version. He was careful to distinguish 'version' from 'translation', since he does not consider this to be a translation of the original.
